Andrew Parma’s practice focuses on civil appeals, summary judgments and other dispositive motions, primarily in the context of commercial litigation.

He has considerable experience involving complex commercial warranty claims, fraud and fraudulent inducement issues, guaranty contracts, supersedeas proceedings, and related post-judgment issues. He has represented clients in the construction, finance, real estate and healthcare industries and has advised clients involved in corporate governance disputes.

Over more than fifteen years, Andrew has handled appeals in Texas’ First, Second, Third, Tenth and Fourteenth courts of appeals, as well as assisting with appeals in the Fifth and Eleventh circuits and Florida’s district courts of appeals.

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas School of Law, Andrew served as intern for then-Chief Justice Tom Phillips on the Texas Supreme Court, then spent five years as a staff attorney with Texas’ Fourth and Fourteenth courts of appeals before entering private practice.

EXPERIENCE

  • Successfully appealed take-nothing judgment seeking broker’s fee in sale of apartment complex.
  • Secured reversal of judgment in excess of $700,000 for homebuilder and its officers on claims of breaking contract and fraud.
  • Secured reversal of judgment in excess of $600,000 on behalf of the guarantor of a corporation’s open account.
  • Authored successful appeal of Florida trial court’s order dismissing client’s securities manipulation claims with prejudice.
  • Authored one of the first successful challenges to a second mortgage based on its failure to comply with Texas Constitution.
